NPCs

NPCs, met or known by reputation, rumor or legend.

Lieutenant John Argus: officer of The Black Guard, in charge of paying bounties.

Simon of Bellamy: a wizard of legend, once an inhabitant of the Black Tower, rumored to have returned (see Black Tower History).

Cosmo: owner of Cosmo's Curiosities, a small magic shop. Cosmo is a thin, bald old man with round spectacles and skull cap.

Creighton: an elderly dwarf, former manservant to Durstan Lowell, now in the employ of Boneswa the elf.

Susan Fellgood: agricultural exporter and teamster company owner based in Ravensburg. In addition to escorting caravans for her on occasion, Boneswa and Roghan rescued her from a massive, hollow meteorite ("The Skystone") and its monstrous inhabitant.

Diana Foxglove: gray-haired halfling healer who wanders the countryside near Hamm's Fork offering her services to whoever needs them.

Grimling: a powerful human magic-user now living in a hovel in Dankmarsh. Andros Grey and Athena of the Forest released the soul of Grimling's deceased wife from the clutches of Finneas Flogg (a ghoul).

Gustav: a powerful elvish wizard, now living in the Briarwood north of the Briars. Gustav no longer has the use of his legs, due to recent imprisonment by a group of cultists seeking to resurrect Vecna (they failed, thanks to Olivia).

Helena: Young woman from a village on the road to Hamm's Fork, recently recovered from kaprothropy.

Lorne Ironbark: elven proprietor of the Verdant Grove Inn; also an ex-adventurer.

Durston Lowell: halfling and wealthy last heir of a family of bankers in Ravensburg. Was impoverished until Boneswa and Company recovered the lost family ring (which brings good fortune). Gave Boneswa a dragonslayer sword (sword +1, +2 vs. dragons). Rumored to do business with Gnomes (if you can believe that).

Father Michael: priest of Saint Lillian's church in Hamm's Fork.

Orthelm and Rathilda (and their seven henchmen): an adventuring party, rivals of Boneswa and his crew, and suspects in the murder of Karl Nobbin's and his adventuring party in the Black Tower.

Quagmire: Durston Lowell's manservant. A thoroughly unpleasant, dickish young man, who took over Creighton's job.

Rathilda: see "Orthelm and Rathilda."

Natalia Stoynich: widowed antiquities vendor in Ravensburg.

Tom: a man with orange-reddish hair and beard streaked with black, sometimes seen sitting on a log at the edge of The Briars, relaxing and smoking a pipe.

Tosa-Noa: a powerful wizard from the Jungles of Koth, now living in a stronhold in the Sundered Hills, southwest of Ravensburg.

Big Willie: burly proprietor of the Surly Dragon Inn. An ex-adventurer, Willie maintains a wall of honor with shields or other memorabilia of fallen heroes.

Professor Wynne: professor at the University of Ravensburg, expert in monsters and unusual creatures. Late middle age, slighly plump and short, particularly arrogant and condescending.
